Why Undomestic Goddess u say...coz I prefer that cliche compared to slummy mummy! heh heh heh...
Since our move to saudi in 2007, my skills as the home manager has been increasing at the SLOWEST rate! I told hubby that more than often I felt I really suck at being a housewife. The worst thing is he just nodded and said its ok...that means its true! Huuwaaa!
My friends who were in the coporate world too before they moved here have bloomed into Domestic Divas! They came up with great yummy menus (like the ones you see on tv or magazines) for their family, baked their own bread, learned how to sew, make clothes for their kids and cushions for the house and at the same time keep their house spotless neat and clean 24/7. All their clothes including the ones they wear at home are iron and pressed always! Best of all, these are friends who have small kids running around the house.
Thats them... me I guess the only thing that has improved is my cooking skills and it does not include cooking gourmet dishes ok! Just basic food and occasionally cucur kodok or goreng pisang! My battle with the laundry is never ending. It has been 4 years and the dirty laundry pile is always about less than a metre high! At first there was one laundry basket now there are two. I secretly hope there wont be a three! ...and pliz dun talk about ironing. I think hubby's office shirt looks worst after I ironed it. Another huwaaa!
Seriously talking about all these really makes me feel that I fail miserably in handling the household chores. Im always strugling on the domestic threadmill. I dunno, maybe its my nature that I'm not really keen on having a spotless home coz whats the fun in that if you cannot make a mess when playing with the kids or if you cant sit on the comfy sofa in the living room coz it is reserved for guests only.
So when I stumbled upon Sophie Kinsella's book The Undomestic Goddess that really struck my heart, coz Im not an alpha mum ...hence the title of my blog.
The thing is maybe Im this way coz I have to confess Im a procrastinator. A really bad one. Also there are so many other
Oh well, I am what I am.... as long as Im a Supermom to the kids and a Superlicious wife to my hubby, Im blessed!

Hi Nurie, you just do what you like best....not all of us can be great cooks or dancers or whatever. But I'm sure you have your own talents for other things, besides being a great mom to your kids, a wonderful wife to hubby.
Have fun, keep a song in your heart, and the best of seasons greetings to you, Lee.
Wow... a post specially for me? I'm blushing already :-)
It is obvious to all now that I'm not a Sophie Kinsella reader... so I reckon there must be a domestic goddess somewhere, right?
You need not worry lah my friend. The only persons that matter now are your kids and your hubby. So your last sentence already answers everything.
But it would help if you could cut down the time spent on FB... hehe..
Hi Lee, always lovely to hear from you...esp your soothing and kind words to a friend! he he he....!
Oldstock,FB is another excuse for procrastination on other things ;-)
Off all the people, you should know right! *evil laugh*
Hi Nurie, wishing you and family a very happy new year!
Best regards and simpan satu lagu dalam hati, Lee.
