In love with Venice

Truth is I never dream of Venice. I had dreams about going to Disneyland but never Venice...Venice is like the place where you only watch it in movies and travel channel. So you can imagine my thrill, my gratefulness and how much I felt blessed every single moment when we were in Venice.

Being in Venice is sooo out of this world. With no vehicles on land, life becomes relax without traffic and hassle. The locals I observed are relaxed in nature and look stress free. Most shops are even close for lunch and are only open again at about 3pm.

We spend 4 nights in Venice and fortunately I found a gorgeous modern apartment for us to stay,
Ca’ Sant’ Angelo We were their first customer so everything is brand new. The kids luv the apartment so much that every time we want to go out, they asked if they can stay at 'home'!

We did a lot of walking in Venice (sadly I did not lose any kilos!), weather was gorgeous, it was cool yet sunny, we dine at those cafes, we browse thru the shops, walk thru the canals and took the cruise on the vaporetto (water taxis). We did not ride the  Gondola coz its damn expensive and with 3 kids in tow, I think we better take the boat! Sigh.....till this day I still dream of Venice, the tranquility of Venice and its beauty.

Wow! I'd always dreamt of going to Venice but the exorbitant prices always make me look at other destinations. If you dun mind, can you share the website of the accomodation, please? Thanks.

Hi Cara,

I discovered that in Italy, its often cheaper and way better stay in vacation rentals rather than the hotels as you dont have to pay tourist tax and service tax. VBRO and Tripadvisor are really good websites to find vacation rentals. Can still go on budget tour in venice, just dont go for tours, jalan sendiri aje, food not that expensive actually... I think people tend to spend more in LOndon than Venice!

Here 's the link for the apartment - http://www.vrbo.com/392618#features
